the stub end of 280 in san francisco. mayor ed lee is talking about it with hopes of creating a new neighborhood and speeding up the arrival of high-speed rail service downtown. the idea is to knock down i-280 before 16th street - eliminating the ramps both at sixth and brannan streets and at fourth and king streets. it would be replaced by a street-level boulevard. the plan also calls for clearing out the adjacent rail yard to make way for a high-speed rail line. >> if you drive a toyota prius or a honda civic hybrid, there are still *thousands of green carpool stickers available. the stickers allow drivers to legally drive solo in california diamond lanes. just over nine-thousand green decals have been issued, which is well below the cap of 40-thousand. the carpool sticker program will end january 1, 2015, and its unclear whether it will be extended. while future exploratorium field trips will take place at the museum's new home at pier 15 in san francisco, one group of students will take over the recently vacated space in the palace of fine arts for an entire school year. the to

the mayors of san jose, san francisco and oakland, who are already at the capitol for the u-s conference of mayors. they're all extending their stay to witness president obama take the oath of office. and as we mentioned, kron four will carry tomorrow's public ceremony live. its scheduled to start at 8- 30 monday morning. and we'll also have the inaugural parade live on our 24-7 bay area news channel - starting at 10-35. a developing story out of the east bay this morning. where there's been a fatal shooting outside the bayfair bart station in san leandro. police say a 40-year old man was killed. and a woman was also hit by gunfire saturday afternoon. authorities expect the woman to recover. the attack happened in broad daylight, and authorities want to reassure transit riders about their safety. >> we are always concerned whether or not anny shooting happens, on bart property or not. this is not a typical occurrence. >> police have detained one suspect in the shooting. they're also reviewing interviewing witnesses. >> now to the big showdown between the niners and the kickoff is at noon

is under investigation. >> also new this morning, san francisco police now investigating an overnight shooting and stabbing in a neighborhood. the stabbing happened before 3:15 this morning on connecticut street. the victim was stabbed in the chest but is expected to survive. nobody so far is under arrest. almost two hours earlier police responded to a shooting down the street near connecticut and 25th. the victim was shot in the foot. he's now in the hospital. he is expected to survive. so far no suspects have been arrested. >> 6:04. maritime officials want regulations for ships moving through the bay after an oil tanker collided with the bridge in thinking fog. the ship is anchored in the bay this morning. the safety committee has rules to prevent ships from moving in nine critical maneuvering areas if visibility is less than a half mile. the bay bridge isn't considered a critical area. that may change. we have learned the coast guard sent a warning to the pilot just before the collision. experts say there may have been confusion between the pilot and the foreign ship's crew. there
